About the Hilton Head Island Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K

The Palmetto Running Company Hilton Head Island Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K is a running event held annually in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The race was first held in 1978—celebrating its 46th anniversary this year—and has since grown to become one of the most popular running events in the Southeast. The course is a flat, scenic route that winds through the beautiful beaches and forests of Hilton Head Island. The marathon is 26.2 miles long, the half marathon is 13.1 miles long, and the 5K is 3.1 miles long.
