Hilton Head Island Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K Race Details

The Hilton Head 5K, Half and Full Marathon starts and finishes at Jarvis Park in the heart of Hilton Head Island on Saturday, February 10th! Start time is 8:00 AM for the marathon and half marathon and 8:30 AM for the 5K. We’ll be updating this website regularly with new information, so be sure to check back periodically for up-to-date information.

The Courses

MARATHON

START TIME: 8:00 AM
The marathon will follow the same course as the Half Marathon for the first half and then continue on the following loop to the finish.

*This course is USATF certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier!

HALF MARATHON

START TIME: 8:00 AM
The Half Marathon course will be very similar to the 2023 event as shown below.

5K

START TIME: 8:30 AM
Water and aid stations for the 5K will be located near mile 2.

Featured Race Details

PACERS

HALF MARATHON
Will range from 1:30 to 3:00 finish times in the following 10-minute increments: 1:30, 1;40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, 2:40, 2:50, 3:00.

FULL MARATHON
Will range from 3:00 to 5:20 in the following increments: 3:00, 3:05, 3:10, 3:20, 3:25, 3:30, 3:35, 3:40, 3:50, 3:55, 4:05, 4:20, 4:35, 4:50, 5:05, 5:20.

GEAR CHECK

Gear check tent will be open at 6:30 AM on race morning.

Save time on packet pickup by adding on packet mailing at registration! Already registered? Don’t worry! You can add it on through your EnMotive account. Please note, we are unable to mail out packets after the packet mailing deadline has passed.

AWARDS

There will be overall awards for the top 3 Male and Female runners in each distance. Age group awards will be given to the top three male and female in the age ranges 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

There is FREE Parking at Hilton Head Island High School Campus located off of Highway 278 at Wilborn Rd. Please allow plenty of time to park and walk across Highway 278 to get to the starting area. The walk is a good half mile or so from the school parking lot to Jarvis Creek Park. No vehicles will be allowed inside Jarvis Creek Park for any reason.

Elite Runners Perks

If you’ve achieved an exceptionally low finish time at a marathon or half marathon in the past two years, we have a couple of perks for you! Get VIP access to the Elite Runner Corral at the front of the pack to ensure you get a fast start right out of the gate as well as fully comped entry to this year’s race!

  • Masters 45-49 – Sub 3:12 Marathon / 1:44 Half
  • Masters 50-54 – Sub 3:22 Marathon / 1:44 Half
  • Masters 55-59 – Sub 3:40 Marathon / 1:50 Half
  • Masters 60-64 – Sub 3:58 Marathon / 1:50 Half
  • Masters 65-69 – Sub 4:15 Marathon / 1:50 Half
  • Masters 70-74 – Sub 5:00 Marathon / 1:50 Half
  • Masters 75-79+ – Sub 5:00 Marathon / 2:10 Half
Standards for both the marathon and half marathon must have been run within 18 months of the race to qualify. Athletes applying for elite complimentary entry will not be included in the Age Group results or awards. They will be categorized in the overall Elite results only. Applications will close January 20th. Late entries will not be accommodated. An elite complimentary entry is non-transferable and only applies to the Half Marathon and Marathon distances. Other distances do not qualify.

The After Party

The Hilton Head Marathon doesn’t end at the finish line – the fun continues with an awesome after-party in Jarvis Creek Park!

There will be music, food, drinks, and a craft beer garden! Best of all, registered runners (21+) get two beer tickets to enjoy cold Island Brand beer after their race!

Low Country Boil

Brand NEW as of 2023, Hilton Head Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K runners will be treated to an authentic, southern-style Lowcountry Boil after the run, provided by Lowcountry Kitchen of Bluffton! Imagine sweet corn, fingerling potatoes, and andouille sausage just waiting to refuel you after setting a new PR on the course!
